The ALAIA effect, Meeting Tom Wegener at The Alley Fish Fry 2009 was one of the highlights of the trip, The whole Alaia 'thing' is very intriguing, Surfing a plank of wood sounds basic and almost impossible, But it is happening and the Alaia movement will hit the shores of NZ soon, Roger, Sergio, The MATTador and I all were lucky to meet Tom, Check out his Alaia's (solid and hollow) and discuss the Alaia's place in surfing, We have all come back from The Alley Fish Fry 2009 bursting with stoke and ideas for the next FRY !, Micro*, PS More FRY pics soon !

Love my Alaia but it requires a better rider than me at the moment.
Amazing how much some of Toms alaia look like Simmons boards.
is the crew looking at a paulownia range of boards now ?
