Ruakaka Northland NZ has been handcrafting some of the most amazing wooden surfboards built to date, Made from a selection of light woods both overseas species and (of course) NZ grown timber, Some locally sourced (from up the road), This chambered Speed Dialer model (top pic) was one of 4 that was showcased in Australia at The Wooden Boards Day held in
Currumbin on the Gold Coast, It was a great event to display Roger's talents, So this next board (bottom three images) is number 6 in the series made from, So far,
Coconut and Balsa, It's early stages but it is coming together nicely, If you have missed out on the whole wooden trip that Roger has been on just call in to the Showroom in

nice! check out kepa alvarez', a surfer from donostia, short film documentary on building his first wooden board... you might just like it. it faired well in some european short film and surf film festivals, it's now presenting at the nyc short film festival.
