coconut update


Update for The Chambered Coconut Twin Keel, Partly shaped (does not sound like much but to get to that point is about 3 weeks work), Roger has split the beams (taken out the foam spacers) and is doing the chambering by hand, What a mission, Next is the final glue up and the finish shaping, Then glassing, Phew, Micro*

splitting the beams? foam spaces? me no understand...any pic's of that process (and the hand chambering,whew sounds like hard graft). what was the foam for and where was it?? Cheers,K.

the beams are glued together with foam spacers, only a few mils thick, the board is partly shaped and then the foam is removed, the beams are chambered out, the spacers are replaced with timber and it is glued back together, this means that roger can make the blank as close tolerance as he likes, hope that answers it, cheers micro*, ps the foam is hard to see because the wood dust sticks to it when it is being shaped, but trust me they are there
